Amazon Canada brings back the Amazon Designer Spotlight
Amazon Canada’s exclusive online fashion series, Amazon Designer Spotlight, returns to celebrate six more Canadian designers. The personal and professional story of each is summarized in two-minute clips, which are broadcast on the Amazon Canada Instagram account. Featured is Mic. Carter from L’Uomo Strano, Hilary MacMillan, Entin Gartini, Matteo Valmora from Valmora, Yulee Harris from Hunter & Trove and Dusty LeGrande from Mobilize Waskawewin. Additionally, each of the local designers will receive a $25,000 grant to donate to a fashion charity of her choice, as well as a featured store on amazon.ca.
Jordan Fisher is the first celebrity to collaborate on an Aldo menswear collection
This week, Aldo marks a new era with the launch of his first men’s collaboration. Joining forces with the multi-hyphenate Jordan Fisher, the collection includes an elevated variety of everyday Chelsea boots and finely crafted crossbody bags, all designed and named by Fisher himself. The collaboration also marks a partnership between Aldo and Nordstrom US, as the Jordan Fisher collection will be available to purchase through the fashion retailer.
Bata’s new exhibit is all about the shoe-obsessed

The Bata Shoe Museum surely has, which is what led director and senior curator Elizabeth Semmelhack to explore society’s fascination with the functional fashion accessory. The museum’s new exhibition, Obsessed: How Shoes Became Objects of Desire, explores the history of need, innovation, culture and lust around footwear. The exhibition is open from now until April 2024.

Scott is known for his eye-catching acrylic earrings and ready-to-wear designs that meld Western luxury fashion with an age-old approach to design. In this first eyewear collaboration, expect to see color and a touch of whimsy.

Swiss sportswear brand On reveals footwear made with carbon emissions
Fashion and science collide in the latest release from Swiss clothing brand On. After figuring out how to turn carbon emissions into a raw material, dubbed CleanCloud, the label went ahead and built the first running shoe made entirely from carbon waste. The biggest challenge? Spending three and a half years figuring out how to make a CleanCloud sole, which is usually made from petroleum-based materials.
Six artists add their touch to Louis Vuitton’s Capucine bag
The timeless and classic bags of Louis Vuitton Capucine have recently undergone an artistic metamorphosis. For the fourth edition of Artycapucines, a project in which LV calls on artists from around the world to recreate the iconic bag, six unique and striking examples of creativity have emerged thanks to the handiwork of Amélie Bertrand, Daniel Buren, Peter Marino, Park Seo-Bo, Ugo Rondinone and Kennedy Yanko. Each bag in the Artycapucines 2022 collection will be released in a limited edition fleet of 200 pieces and will be available in Louis Vuitton stores around the world.
