The Fender Jaguar guitar was designed in 1962 and has been a fixture of the guitar community ever since. As universally loved as this instrument is, it had a particularly powerful impact on musical enclaves that existed on the fringes of popular culture. Some of the biggest names in ’60s surf rock, ’70s punk, ’90s grunge and early 2000s indie are among the most avid fans of Jaguar guitars, and it’s no wonder why. From its offset design, to its unorthodox wiring and pickup switching capabilities, to its unique taunting tone, the Fender Jaguar guitar is optimized for the bold.
Who better to celebrate this anniversary than Brixton, a brand that has similarly combined undeniable craftsmanship with unique style to create a product that unites people from a variety of walks of life. Fender and Brixton’s commitment to quality and thought-provoking design has made them both standouts in their respective fields for years, and now the only thing left to do is join forces.
The Brixton and Fender 60the The Anniversary Jaguar Guitar Collection features Brixton’s famous flannels, graphic tees, headwear and more. A radical departure from when originally released by Fender in the 1960s, the Jaguar’s unique shape and high-vis chrome detailing provided inspiration for the Brixton design team. With all product names in the collection derived from elements of the guitar’s features, elements including the Jaguar logo t-shirt and corduroy hat reflect the guitar’s angular look, while pop-color pockets found inside the hats are meant to mimic its bold chrome accents.
