On Wednesday, Lufthansa Flight 469 left Austin, Texas for Frankfurt, Germany. About 90 minutes after takeoff, 37,000 toes above Tennessee, the aircraft was all of a sudden hit with turbulence. And not simply “oo, this is a little bumpy” turbulence. EXTREME turbulence. Everything that wasn’t bolted down went flying, and the flight was compelled to make an emergency touchdown at Dulles International Airport in Virginia. 7 folks needed to be rushed to the hospital with accidents. But the scariest half? This flight had valuable cargo! Celebrity passengers Matthew McConaughey and spouse Camila Alves. And a Goldendoodle named Arlo (don’t fear, he’s OK).
People stories that Camila revealed she and Matt have been on the flight in an Instagram video. The footage exhibits the aftermath of the turbulence, with meals, napkins, dishes, and different objects scattered within the aisle. In the caption, Camila writes:

Camila goes on to thank everybody on the Marriott Bonvoy in Washington who helped her discover a lodge room after the emergency touchdown. She provides that she and Matthew “made it to the bar with 1 minute before closing.” Phew! After getting some sleep, the couple continued their journey on one other flight the following morning.
