Nicolas Cage will star in the new horror film ‘Longlegs’.
The ‘Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ actor will also executive produce the upcoming thriller under his Saturn Films production company.
Little is known about the project and plot details are being kept under wraps, though Deadline reports that the film will be “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers.”
The script has been written by ‘Gretel and Hansel’ screenwriter Osgood Perkins, who will also direct the film.
Jason Cloth and Dave Caplan’s C2 Motion Picture Group will produce and fully finance the project, with filming set to begin in 2023.
Meanwhile, the executive producers will also include Jason Cloth (‘Joker’) and Automatik’s Fred Berger (‘La La Land’).
Last month, it was revealed that Cage, 58, has been cast in the action-survival thriller ‘Sand and Stones’, which is being directed by Ben Brewer from a script by Michael Nilon, with filming set to begin this month. in Dublin.
The film takes place in a world where society has collapsed and the world population has plummeted. Cage plays a man who has managed to survive on a remote farm with his teenage children.
However, after the sun sets each night, “ferocious creatures” begin to hunt and kill any living thing that crosses their path. The family finds itself struggling to survive after one of the sons mistakenly opens them for attack.
Brewer and Cage previously worked together on the 2016 film ‘The Trust’ and the filmmaker also served as lead visual effects artist on the critically acclaimed film ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.
