(November 12, 2022) – St. Thomas University (STU) (19-5, 12-2 DOM) volleyball battles its way to win the Sun Conference Tournament Championship, the first of the whitney battoe It was. The Bobcats swept Keizer University (32-8, 10-4 DOM) in straight sets to claim their crown in front of the home crowd at the Fernandez Family Center.

After another incredible regular season, the Bobcats claimed their second straight regular season crown with a 12-2 record. With the crown title, STU secured the No. 1 seed and hosting rights to the tournament.
As the top seed, STU received a bye to the quarterfinals and waited for their opponent in the semifinals. Southeastern defeated Florida Memorial in three sets to earn their ticket to Miami Gardens. The Fire was one of two teams to beat the Bobcats in the regular season. SEU took a quick two-set lead before the Bobcats flipped the script and earned the reverse sweep by taking the final three sets to return to the championship game.

St. Thomas won the first point of the game as it ended yesterday, with a amanda beyond to kill. The tone was set from there as it was all STU. The Bobcats dominated the first set with a .326 shooting percentage and just three errors. The second set continued with a .368 batting percentage and three blocks. It just got better from there, as St. Thomas hit an impressive .444 in the final set and only one attacking error.
That was the Bobcats’ best offensive performance of the season, posting a total of 52 kills in just three sets. Mariana Cove he led the charge with 17 kills off the bench for a career-high .593 batting. amanda beyond closely followed with 13 kills for the 17th time this season. The defense scored seven blocks, one as the final dagger in a tag team of Alexandra McAskill Y tayla barnes.
Loreto Nunez Casal and amanda beyond were named to the All-Tournament team joining Blanca Grassi who was named tournament MVP after 20 straight performances, including 22 against Keizer.
